1 Introduction

WFilter NGF has an intergrated DNS server for DNS caching, static DNS parser, and DNS forwarding.

  • In gateway mode, DHCP will assign clients DNS to WFilter's lan ip address.
  • You can setup parent DNS servers in "Config"->"Network"->"Interfaces".
  • Forward by domain: forward DNS queries to the target DNS server when querying certain domains.
  • Forward by IP: forward DNS queries from local IP ranges to target DNS server.

2 Settings

  • When "DNS Cache Server" is enabled, local DNS query results will be cached for better performance.
  • If disabled, local DNS queries will be forwarded to parent DNS servers immediately.

You can click "New" to add static DNS records.
