DNS Settings
From Wiki of WFilter NG Firewall
1 Introduction
WFilter NGF has an intergrated DNS server for DNS caching, static DNS parser, and DNS forwarding.
- In gateway mode, DHCP will assign clients DNS to WFilter's lan ip address.
- You can setup parent DNS servers in "Config"->"Network"->"Interfaces".
- Forward by domain: forward DNS queries to the target DNS server when querying certain domains.
- Forward by IP: forward DNS queries from local IP ranges to target DNS server.
2 Settings
- When "DNS Cache Server" is enabled, local DNS query results will be cached for better performance.
- If disabled, local DNS queries will be forwarded to parent DNS servers immediately.
You can click "New" to add static DNS records.
